On Friday evening, August 2. 2025, the Tenants’ Association of Fort Greene-Clinton Hill hosted an intimate dinner party in honor of Marilyn D. Mosley to celebrate her 84th birthday (July 20) at the fabulous Peaches Prime Restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn. Mosley, the  mother of NYS Secretary of State Walter T. Mosley III, was joined by her sister  Audrey J. Bernard, nephew Dr. James Jennings Jr., niece and AKA sorority sister Dawn Simmons, and her pastor The Rev.  John Lynch, Pastor, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, and his wife Cecelia Lynch.

During the elegant evening Marilyn was presented with several awards of appreciation: Congressional Citation from Congressman Hakeem Jeffries for outstanding community leadership presented by Hon. Jeffries’ representative Lee Church; Citation from NYS Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, Assembly District 42, for outstanding achievement in public service presented by District Leader Kenesha Traynham-Cooperm, Assembly District 56; and Kings County Democratic Committee Citation for exceptional community service.
